Zivchei Ratzon – laws of ritual slaughter by Shlomo ben Refael Ibn Tzur. North Africa, 1924? Different than the printed version.
87, [2] leaves. 26×15 cm.
Zivchei Ratzon, Hilchot Shechita, begins with siman 17 and includes the laws of shechita and treifa. It quotes many halachic works from Moroccan sages, including מהר”ם ‘ן מואיל (40a) מוהר”ר שמואל אבן דנאן זלה”ה (50a) and much more.
In “Ner HaMa’arav” (Jerusalem, 1911), p. 194, Rabbi Yaakov Toledano writes that the book was primarily printed by Rabbi Avraham Ankawa in his “Zivchei Shelamim” and “Kerem Cheimar”. However when compared to “Zivchei Shelamim” it became apparent that Rabbi Ankawa copied many verdicts, but omitted more than he printed. Rabbi Toledano writes that he saw the manuscript of the work. However, the catalogue of the Institute of Microfilmed Hebrew Manuscripts does not list another copy of the work. This may be a later copy of the work since it was written within a notebook bearing the printed date 1924. Included with solitary leaves from another notebook with an additional copy of simanim 17-18.
