Rabbi Meir son of Rabbi Chalfa Bikayam was born c. 1700. In his youth, he studied kabbalah under the leading kabbalists of his time. He passed away in Izmir in 1769. He authored Meir Bat Ayin ; Golel Ohr regarding reincarnations, Meir La’aretz with exegeses on the Torah; Magen Avot and Meorei Ohr with kabblistic exegeses on the Torah.
