Besides the expansive elucidation, the book before us contains important selichot customs, a detailed index, and additional selichot according to different customs. The title page bears the owner’s inscription.
Rabbi Raphael Fürstenthal was born in Glogow of Lower Silesia, Poland, in 1781, and passed away in Breslau in 1855. He translated and elucidated The Guide for the Perplexed and Chovat HaLevavot into German, and compiled other books.
