Hard-to-decipher rabbinic owner’s signature on the title page, in Oriental script, as well as an owner’s stamp from ‘A”H Avraham Azriel, S”T.’ There are several especially lengthy glosses along the book’s leaves in Oriental script from the time of the book’s printing.
The author, Rabbi Avraham Shirano , was a dayan in Salonika, and then the rav hakollel of the city. He passed away in 1836, and the book was published with his assistance.
The book’s owner, Chacham Avraham Azriel , was the av beit din of the Edah HaSafaradit in Jerusalem. He served as the administrator of the Shevet Achim yeshivah, the Kabbalist’s Beit El yeshivah, and was one of the founders of the Sephardic orphanage. He passed away in 1944.
