Unique Features: Owner’s inscription by the son of R’ Yaakov Rosenfeld, testifying that this book was owned by his father, Rabbi Baruch Rosenfeld of Golub. Over the length of the book there are glosses that were almost definitely written by this illustrious rabbi.
Background: Rabbi Baruch Rosenfeld was born in 1815. He was a beloved disciple of Rabbi Akiva Eiger, who was known as the “the rabbi’s bachur.” He was the rabbi of Kroinkah and then of Golub. Rabbi Yaakov Yitzchak, the “Chozeh of Lublin,” sent him a letter in which he called him the “Great Light.” He wrote an approbation for Rabbi Tzvi Hirsch Kalisher’s Moznayim L’Mishpat (Krotoschin, 1815). Condition: The leaves of the book are in fine condition, though the binding is detached.
