Comprehensive work on many sections of the Shulchan Aruch Orach Chaim, arranged in alphabetical order, by an outstanding Sephardic sage.
Specifications: Ledger with a large, comprehensive work, autograph, [820] pages. 20×28 cm. Graph paper. Small handwriting.
Unique features: Very important work, which our research indicates has never been printed.
Content: Entry upon entry arranged in the order of the aleph-beit, such as the Sdei Chemed, indicating an outstanding proficiency. This is not a compilation; it is an independent study full of questions and clarifications, opinions regarding opposing poskim, practical halacha, reasons for customs and the like.
The ledger opens with a blank leaf, apparently for an introduction that was never written, other than the words “I called this work Minchat Kohen.” In a number of locations, the author writes ולי איש צעיר or ואנכי אי”ש צעיר – apparently alluding to his first or surname.
Background: The author was an outstanding Sephardic rabbi. He is well-versed in all the works of the Sephardic sages and he quotes them with great familiarity.
Condition: Very fine. A few aging stains and ink smudges.
