A composition written especially for raising money to redeem his young son and daughter which were held captive by the Cossacks, in Lodmir, Poland. Only edition. 19 [1] pg. 17.5 cm. The writer himself was redeemed by the Jews of Constantinople, as it is written in his preface. The kidnappers wouldn’t let his children free unless he pays them a tremendous amount of money. This is the reason he wrote and published this Mussar book, asking in the introduction of all Jew to help him raise the money by buying his book. One of the only compositions printed during the Cossack pogroms, with real stories that just happened. Rare composition. Not bound. Title page detached. Very fine condition.
