“Extends life and heals pain, affliction, wound and injury” (from the manuscript)
Complete manuscript, lengthy and detailed, across four pages handwritten by the G-dly Kabbalist Rabbi Yehudah Pattiyah. Rare type of manuscript in that it serves as an amulet for wearing, as well as for incantation, and it is designated to heal all the diseases common in those days. Including detailed instructions by Rabbi Pattiyah as to how to arrange the incantations and what to whisper for each of the diseases, [Baghdad, early 20th century]. Printed in his book, Chasdei David .
This manuscript covers, as mentioned, the entire topic of practical Kabbalistic healing in Rabbi Pattiyah’s doctrine from beginning to end – prayers, amulets and incantations for all types of illnesses and all patients. The amulets and the incantations were not written for a specific person or a specific disease, but as something of a document to serve the person who has it in his possession, including detailed instructions by Rabbi Pattiyah as to how to whisper the patient’s name and how to recite the detailed incantation for each of the diseases. As such, this is a rare amulet – almost impossible to find, with inestimable value – not an amulet for a specific purpose, but a general amulet, something like a “master key” designated for healing anyone from any disease, written in the very hand of the G-dly Kabbalist Rabbi Yehudah Pattiyah, who was primarily known for his wondrous amulets and for his familiarity with the spiritual worlds.
The diseases listed in the amulet include: Fever, diarrhea, constipation, urinary overproduction, urinary backup, headache, evil eye, sleepwalking, quieting a crying child, anger and impatience, toothaches, leg pain and much more. Incantation format: First a general prayer, followed by the private incantation, then sacred Names and finally a concluding prayer.
Incidentally, at the top of each page, Rabbi Pattiyah wrote the title by which he intended to call the book in which these amulets would be printed: “Shome’a Tefillah.” In the end, Rabbi Pattiyah decided to call the book Chasdei David . On the first page only, he crossed out the name “Shome’a Tefillah.” and wrote Chasdei David in its place. He also notes in the manuscript the chapter number in Chasdei David where these amulets were printed: “Chapter III.”
