Specifications: [1] piece of graph paper. 13×21 cm. Signed autograph. Dated the 6th of Tishrei, 1941; stamped “received” on the 11th of Tishrei, 1941. Written by Rabbi Yaakov Friedman, Admor of Husiatyn, to the Religious Council of Tel Aviv – Yaffo.
Background: Rabbi Yaakov Friedman [1878-1956] was the son of Rabbi Yitzchak Friedman of Bohush and son-in-law of Rabbi Yisrael of Husiatyn, both prominent Admors. He was a direct descendant of the Rebbe of Ruzhin, who was venerated by the leaders of the generation and termed “King of Yisrael.” Together with his relatives, Rabbi Chaim Meir Yechiel Shapiro of Drohobycz and Rabbi Shlomo Chaim Friedman of Sadigura, he founded the Zionist-chassidic organization “Chevrat Yishuv Eretz Yisrael.”
