Background: Rabbi Aharon Worms was born in 1754. He was a disciple of the Shaagat Aryeh. He was a dayan in Alsace and rosh yeshiva in Metz and a member of Napoleon’s Sanhedrin. He passed away in 1836. He is renowned for his monumental Meorei Ohr . Refer to: Areshet , 2, 1960, p. 190-198 and the Yerushateinu collection (2009), p. 269 – 309.
Unique Features: Throughout the book there are about twenty corrections and glosses. The handwriting indicates that they were written by the author himself.
Signature and stamp of Rabbi Moshe Chaim Weiss, Kleinvardin, a noted Torah genius and prominent disciple of Rabbi Shmelke Klein of Selesh. He did not serve in the rabbinate, but was a noted philanthropist who supported a yeshiva in his home in Kleinvardin. He authored the Mateh Moshe commentary on the Sma”g, printed in Munkacs 1905. He received approbations from the Torah leaders of the generation, who even added their comments. He passed away in 1922.
