Rare prayer booklet published by the Office of the Chief Rabbi at the height of the terrible Holocaust, London, December 1942. It contains prayers, supplications and verses of mercy for the Jews who were killed in the occupied European countries. Unknown.
Hebrew and English on facing pages. With a special prayer: “Alm-ghty G-d, banish envy and causeless hatred from the hearts of the peoples … hasten the days when the nations shall know that we all have one Father, that one G-d Hath created us …” In the El-Mlaeh Rachamim prayer: “… their blood is flowing like water in Poland, Roumania and all other lands under the heels of arrogant iniquity …” Avinu Malkeinu appears at the end of the booklet, and shofar blowing.
