* Sefer Divrei Menachem – words heard from Rabbi Menachem Mendel ztzukllh”h, a resident of Frysztak and Romanov who gave weekly Shabbat sermons. Lemberg, 1863. First edition.
The author was well-known for his occupation of drawing livelihood to the Jewish people, and was known as ‘ Sar HaParnassah .’ His primary disciple, the Rebbe Rabbi Yechezkel Panet, wrote that the sacred Rabbi Mendel of Rimanov was occupied with Parashat HaMann his entire life, and spoke Torah about it for twenty-two years. It is known that this was for the purpose of drawing sustenance to the Jewish people. In this sefer as well, a lot is written about parnassah and about Parashat HaMann .
There is a segulah for parnassah known in his name – to recite Parashat HaMann on Tuesday of the week Parashat Beshalach is read. Many also travel to his grave to pray for livelihood.
The Rimanov Rebbe’s sacred works are known as sifrei segulah for bringing sustenance. The gaon Rabbi Yosef Shaul Nathansohn even hints at this in his approbation written for this first edition: “And his words are known among the living … he is known as the ‘Divrei Menachem’ and his words became a consolation for our sorrow and our groaning, to bring us livelihood and revive our spirits. ”
