Pair of silver finials for a Torah scroll. Iraq, start of the 20th century.
27 cm. tall, maximal diameter of 6 cm.
Casted, repoussé silver. Each finial is tower-shaped, stands on a cylindrical leg and has delicate repoussé work with floral designs and birds on its tower. Eight small rings connect to chains and end with tear-shaped bells. Engraved at the top of the tower: A Star of David and the primitively engraved Hebrew word: Zion. Primitive Hebrew engraving of the name Shlomo ben David on each leg.
One finial is missing 4 chains. Fine condition.
