Brass pin designed for Jews who survived the Holocaust in the infamous Bergen-Belsen camp and ascended to the Land of Israel. Inscription around the perimeter: “תש”ז Grand National, 1947 Belsen-Palestine.” The manufacturer’s stamp appears on the back, somewhat blurred: L&W Hanover.
At the center of the pin is a pair of hands bound with iron chains raised upwards pleading in anticipation. The backdrop is a flourishing landscape – the long-awaited Land of Israel. Inscribed in Hebrew “Exodus from Germany-JNF.”
