Breathtaking illustrations of the cities of Haifa, Jericho, Safed, Tiberius, Jaffa and the tomb of Rachel, including symbolic motifs, as was customary for this artist, such as Jonah in the fish’s belly (for Jaffa), Jacob and Rachel (at Rachel’s Tomb), the words “!אלהא דרבי מאיר, ענני” in Tiberius, (hints of the tale of Rabbi Meir, who is buried in Tiberius, who performed a miracle), the prophet Eliyahu on Mt. Carmel (in Haifa), and more.
Ze’ev Raban (1890-1970) was a painter, graphic artist and designer. One of the founders of Israeli art.
