Poster about the prohibition of using electricity on Shabbat and Yom Tov according to the Chazon Ish’s opinion, from Rabbi Ya’akov Yisrael Kanievsky – ‘The Steipler’ – with his handwritten corrections and supplements.
The gaon Rabbi Ya’akov Yisrael Kanievsky – ‘The Steipler’ [1899-1985] was a gaon, tzaddik and sacred in all his ways. He was a leader of the Chareidi community and author of the Kehillot Ya’akov series of books on the Talmud. He was the Chazon Ish’s brother-in-law and Rabbi Chaim Kanievsky’s father. He worked wonders and fled honor and power his entire life, yet when necessary, he would make his voice heard.
