Protective box for menorah. From the estate of the Mashgiach of Kol Torah in Jerusalem Rav Gedaliah Eisman. Walls and doors of glass framed by metal with clasp. With chimney. 40×32 cm., 16 cm. deep. The Mashgiach used the box for more than 50 years. According to his only son, Rav Eisman always used this box for lighting his Chanukah candles. HaRav Gedaliah served as Mashgiach at Kol Torah for more than 50 years. He was a larger-than-life personality, steeped in mussar. He was born in Warsaw in 1910 to his parents, Avraham and Sheptil, and passed away at age 102 in 2011. His admiring students number in the thousands. His mussar work Gidulei Mussar was printed by his son-in-law Rav Shlomo Breuer. It has been reprinted several times and holds an important place in the world of Torah literature. Minor repairs and welding. Rust signs. Fine condition.
