On the upper part of the page, the text of Psalms was printed with the German translation, and on the lower part of the page, the extended commentary. Two sections with two separate title pages. Kaufman printing press, Frankfurt am Main, 1882.
Rabbi Shimshon Raphael Hirsch [1808-1889], leader of the Orthodox community of Germany in the 19th century, wrote compositions in German for the Jews of Germany. The Admo”r of Gur, author of Imrei Emet , said of him that “what the Chatam Sofer was for Hungarian Jewry, Rabbi Hirsch was for German Jewry.”
