Rabbi Meir Baal HaNess charity box, for Kollel Chibat Yerushalayim. L.A. press, Tel Aviv. The front of the box features a picture of the synagogue and beit medrash at the tomb of Rabbi Meir Baal HaNess, with Hebrew and English captions. The reverse features a special Yiddish prayer for Shabbat candle lighting, to be recited after placing coins in the box. Additional illustration of a menorah with verses from Psalms. The first boxes that were created for the Rabbi Meir Baal HaNess charites, like this one, were made with the illustrations and texts on the body of the box itself. Later on, primarily for financial considerations, the print was made separately on a paper that was placed in a plastic pocket at the front of the box. Aging stains, rust marks. Moderate condition.
