Dozens of lengthy scholarly comments t hroughout the book . The writer’s identity was not clarified, but he was clearly a great scholar, well versed in the books of all the Later Authorities. Contains numerous glosses on the laws of Erchin and Charamim [which are not widely studied], along with dozens of halachic glosses on the laws of nazirut , kila’im and more.
Note, for example, a lengthy comment at the beginning of the laws of shechitah , which opens with the words: “Attributing this commentary to the Maggid Mishneh is falsehood,” regarding the controversy of who authored the commentary Maggid Mishneh on these laws, a question addressed by many. The writer displays acumen of the various sides with amazing expertise and depth.
