Rare and interesting manuscript – copying of the book ‘ Chochmat HaYad ‘ which contains many details for ‘Palm-Reading’ and various clues indicating an individual’s life story! Chatzi Kolmus script. C. the first half of the 19th century.
This book was compiled by Rabbi Moshe ben Eliyahu Galino (Galina) from his book ‘ Toldot Adam ‘ (Kushta 1515), with changes to language and style.
The title page is decorated with a fine border. Drawn all over the back of the title page is a palm, divided and marked according to what is said in the book. This illustration is very similar to the one that was printed in the book ‘ Chochmat HaYad ‘ printed in Russia-Poland, c. 1800. (Can be found in the scanning of Otzar HaChochma).
The book originally included ten chapters; however in this manuscript, chapters 8-9 were intentionally not copied. Known are several editions of the above book, with omissions and additions of chapters and varied passages.
The last leaf is lacking, with a ‘Segulah’ added by the first copyist, and is not part of the body of the book.

Moderate condition. Open tears to the margins of the title page and its center were restored with paper. Additional leaves were professionally restored. Mold and fungus stains. Worming perforations. many aging stains.
