“And in the merit of our sacred forefathers ztzllh”h, you shall successfully experience salvation – all types of salvations”!
Important historic-Chassidic letter, beautiful and loaded with blessings, dealing with the Admo”r of Spinka’s ascent to the Land of Israel, from the Admo”r, the salvation-worker, Rabbi Meir Yosef Rubin of Kerestir, grandson and successor of Rabbi Yeshayahleh Kerestirer. Keresztúr, 1940. Very rare letter. To the best of our examination, only a single letter from him has ever appeared at auction – and this is undoubtedly one of the only letters to have survived.
Aside from the segulah value of the letter bearing tremendous blessings signed by the salvation-worker of Kerestir (about whom we will elucidate below), this letter contains important content from the historic-Chassidic perspective. The letter discusses “my sister’s son, the gaon and rabbi, scion of the sacred, Yosef Meir Kahane of Ungvar, shlit”a, previously dayan and moreh tzeddek of Sezdahely, presently desires to ascend to with his family, may they be well, to the Land of Israel.” The subject of this statement is the Admo”r Rabbi Yosef Meir Kahane, founder of the Spinka dynasty in the Land of Israel. Indeed, as the tzaddik of Kerestir stated, he was successful in “realizing his plan” and he ascended to the Land of Israel where he founded the sacred Spinka-Kahane dynasty.
The wonder-worker of Kerestir blesses the most important blessings in this rare letter discussing his beloved nephew – drawing on the influence of his grandfather, Rabbi Yeshayahleh of Kerestir and upwards along the Ropschitz, Zhidatchov and Lizhensk dynasties: “And in the merit of our sacred forefathers ztzllh”h you shall successfully experience salvation – all types of salvations, and the final redemption, Keresztúr, the small one, Meir Yosef …” He also adorns this letter with verses of blessing and abundance, in the Kerestir tradition: “… I hereby give you my blessings on this day in 1940,” “שנת ש”ת כסאו להציל ידידיו.” This letter as well, in Reb Yeshayaleh’s tradition in his own letters and in his famous amulets, is written in the gabbai ‘s script and signed by the rebbe. This letter also bears the rebbe’s personal stamp.
