“Heavenly assistance for each and every one – good livelihood and blessings, influenced by the master of all”
Historic Chassidic invitation, sacred and rare, from the renowned salvation-worker Rabbi Yitzchak Isaac of Spinka – one of the leading Admo”rim of the generations, known by the name of his
sefer , as the author of
Chekel Yitzchak . The invitation is for the marriage of his grandson and successor, Rabbi Ya’akov Yosef Weiss, later the Admo”r of Spinka himself. He was raised by the Chekel Yitzchak as his own son after Ya’akov Yosef’s mother’s passing. Selish, 1937. We will point out that there is no consensus among period historians as to the date this wedding took place – and here we have the original invitation with the precise date!
Alongside the segulah significance of this wedding invitation loaded with rare and important blessings from the wonder-worker, the Chekel Yitzchak of Spinka, about which we will elaborate below, is its exceptional historic-Chassidic significance – the Chekel Yitzchak’s invitation to his grandson’s wedding, the only one to have remained from among all his sons and grandsons who were martyred in the valley of death in Auschwitz – with the Chekel Yitzchak at their lead. The bridegroom at this wedding, the sole survivor, a sacred scion, survived and revived Spinka Chassidism. It is especially exciting to note the year detail mentioned by the Chekel Yitzchak with his Divine inspiration, ” Life , blessing and salvation (” חיים וברכה וישועה” [=תרצ”ז]), and indeed, it was only this grandson who remained among the living, as mentioned, and continued the sacred dynasty!
The Chekel Yitzchak of Spinka, known for blessings that are always fulfilled, issues lofty blessings in this invitation – in rhyme in the original – b’idna d’chedvata – a time fitting for salvation: “May the good G-d help protect his followers from sorrow, grant heavenly assistance for each and every one – good livelihood and blessings, influenced by the master of all … my faith in the Rock of Salvation is strong that the merit of our sacred and pure ancestors and rabbis will influence this celebration with much blessing and salvation for the entire Jewish people … the small one, Yitzchak Isaac.”
