Printed and illustrated note integrated with seven lines of handwritten blessings, addressed to the sacred Jew, the renowned wonder-worker Rabbi Yisrael Friedman – the second Admo”r of Chortkov “on his daughter’s wedding day.” Unidentified signature and stamp. Tiberias, 1913.
The letter was sent on the occasion of the marriage of Rebbetzin Chavah, the Rebbe’s daughter, to his prominent son-in-law, the renowned wonder-worker, the Admo”r Rabbi Tzvi Aryeh Twersky of Zlotopolye. The printed text is full of sacred blessings and the names of the tana’im who are buried in the Galilee. In the additional handwritten section, the Chassidim bless the Rebbe in honor of his family celebration, and for the huge sum of 36 krona donated by the Rebbe for the poor of the Land of Israel in honor of his daughter’s wedding.
As is known, the Admo”r of Chortkov was a renowned lover of the Land of Israel. For decades, he donated and raised huge sums to maintain the Jewish communities in Jerusalem, Tiberias, Safed and others. This is an important historic document attesting to the dispatch of a huge sum to the community in Tiberias.
