Background: Rabbi Rafael Zilberman, known as “Reb Rafael Dayan” [1839-1917] was born in Uman in the Ukraine. He immigrated to Israel together with his parents in 1850 and studied in yeshivas in Safed and from his father who served as rabbi of Safed. In 1860 he was appointed as dayan of the Ashkenazi congregation of Safed. After his father’s death in 1872, he was appointed as the Chief Rabbi of the Ashkenazi congregation of Safed. Known for his wisdom and greatness in Torah.
Condition: Fine. Minimal aging stains. On the title page, the place of printing is colored in ink. New binding.
