Practical Kabbalah, rare edition
Sefer HaGoralot – Urim V’Tumim , Kabbalistic work to foretell the future. Bombay, Anglo Jewish and Vernacular Press, by Aharon Ya’akov Shmuel Daucher, 1886. Gershom Scholem’s library has a copy that lacks the title page, in which the renowned Kabbalah scholar wrote “hard-to-find”!
The entire sefer (except the introduction) consists of tables for casting lots, and sacred Names. The tables are accompanied by detailed instructions in clear, easily comprehensible language, with a warning not to use the lots except for “urgent and essential matters.”
Small notice pasted on the front flyleaf with a warning from Rabbi Yechezkel Ya’akov Rachamim not to print the sefer for the next ten years without his permission. This notice is completely unknown; it is not listed by the Mif’al HaBibliographiah nor the National Library, and is not in any of the copies that have appeared at auction.
