Each Chumash has a frontispiece, a title page in French and another frontispiece. At the beginning of Chumash Bereishit, there is a lengthy introduction in French, along with approbations by French rabbis (in French). Important work that was a significant event for the Jews of France.
The translator and commentator Rabbi Elazar Weg, a Parisian rabbi and one of the heads of Le Séminaire Israélite de France, signed his name after the first title page of Bereishit.
