The sefer opens with enthusiastic approbations from many rabbis, including from Lithuania – Brisk, Slabodka, Novhardok and more. Rabbi Chaim Rapoport, av beit din of Ostroh, mentions in his approbation, “The magnificent and glorious press of the famous rabbi … the av beit din of Slavuta …”
Pedigree signature on the title page: ” HaRav HaGaon … Rabbi Ze’ev Wolf … av beit din of T[…?]. Last leaf of the book with handwritten “Insights on Sha’agat Aryeh .” by the owner of the book written in small close cursive script, on a large page, containing c40 lines of Torah Novelae as of yet unpubliushed. We have not managed to identify the writer, but the content of the comments indicate that he was a Gaon in Torah with an immense amount of knowledge. Transcription of the glosses included.
