The Lehrin family established the Organization of Clerks and Administrators of Amsterdam which was founded at the beginning of the 19th century and was active for more than 100 years, until WWI. The aim of the organization was to raise funds for the people of the old yishuv in Jerusalem.
In the book’s approbation: “May G-d bless our king, Louis Napoleon, our dear beloved friend … he, his wife and all his progeny.” Louis Napoleon Bonaparte III, nephew of Napoleon Bonaparte, was king of Holland in those years.
