Rabbi Shimshon Morpurgo [1681-1740] was the rabbi of Ancona and a leading rabbi and posek. His words were quoted by the prominent poskim of all later generations. He was a leader of Italian Jewry, a strong fighter of Sabbateanism and was involved in the polemic about the Ramchal’s writings.
