Ink on paper. ‘Shiviti’ in square letters with ‘La’menatzeach’ (Psalms, 67) in the shape of the menorah. Stamped ‘R.L. Benjamin’. The Benjamin family belong to the ‘Bagdad Community’ of wealthy families who immigrated to India from Arab countries in the beginning of the 18th century, and started new communities in Bombay and Calcutta. This ‘Shiviti’ apparently came from the ‘Magen David’ synagogue in Bombay, India. Glued on cardboard. Fine condition.
