Stonework in the shape of an open book from the Cyprus Detention Camp [1947].
Engraved on the right page of the “book:” “B”H zikaron mipri avodatecha b’cafrisin, 5707.” On the left, a colorful drawing of a tent in the camp, and a watchtower, surrounded by a barbed wire fence. The words, “Torah” [on the front], and “Ve’avodah” [on the back] are the engraved on the book’s cover. Tablets of the Ten Commandments are on the spine, and an engraved name, “Pinchas Freid.”
Size: 13×8 cm. Stains and slight chipping of the stone. Fine condition.
