Letter from the renowned gaon Rabbi Ya’akov Shaul Elyashar, author of Yisah Berachah , to the philanthropist Yosef Eliyahu David Ezra – son-in-law of the minister David Sassoon. The letter is stunningly designed by a Jerusalem artist. Some of the letters are written in different-colored inks – purple, red and greenish. In this letter, Rabbi Ya’akov Shaul Elyashar confirms receipt of a significant contribution that allowed the community to cope “during these days of terrible cold and snow in Jerusalem, an unimaginable wonder, we received true relief …” The Yisah Berachah also writes about the study schedule established in his father’s memory – the gvir Eliyahu David Yosef Ezra. The Yisah Berachah stamped on the letter with his full name and his nickname, and alongside his signature, his personal stamp. A rare embossed stamp appears at the top of the leaf, also from the Yisah Berachah. Refer to the Hebrew catalog text for a brief biography of Rabbi Ya’akov Shaul Elyashar .
