Among the book’s leaves are photo-montage picture plates [protected by parchment paper] which depict the Jews of Lodz’s desire for life alongside the Nazi threat of 1938-9. A rare book with impressive photographs which was published the year the Lodz Ghetto was established. The book was published on high-quality paper.
Moshe Broderzon [1890-1956] : poet, actor, playwright and manager of Yiddish theater in pre-Second World War Poland and later in the USSR. He was imprisoned in the Gulag Camp in Siberia in his later years and released a year before his death.
