Tehillim with Rashi’s commentary and Asifat Ma’amarim of the Ba’al Shem Tov and his disciples. Jerusalem, 1988. Personal copy of Rabbi Moshe Aryeh Freund, gav”d of Jerusalem.
The book was given to Rabbi Moshe Aryeh Freund by a student who inscribed it with his name so that his teacher would pray for him. The front flyleaf bears the stamp of Rabbi Moshe Aryeh Freund. Kvitlach – prayer-request notes with names – are scattered through the pages.
Rabbi Moshe Aryeh Freund, the gav”d of Jerusalem, was the grandson of Rabbi Avraham Yehoshua Freund, the Rabbi and Admor in Entradam and Năsăud (son-in-law of Rabbi Mordechai Yehuda Loewe, av”d Entradam). He was Rabbi and Rosh Yeshiva in Honiad, Hungary. When he immigrated to Eretz Yisrael he was Rabbi in the Beis Yisrael neighborhood of Jerusalem, Rosh Yeshiva of Yitav Lev, and rav”d and then gav”d of the Eidah HaCharedis. He is renowned for his righteousness and holy behaviors. He passed away in 1996.
Very fine condition.
