The siddur before us was edited by Rabbi Avraham David Lavut and was divided into two sections: the first section contains only that which was printed in the first siddurim which were printed during the lifetime of the Alter Rebbe. In addition, most of the printing errors of the previous editions were corrected in this edition. Furthermore, Rabbi Lavut added references for biblical verses and the Sages’ sayings, therefore titling it Siddur Torah Ohr .
The second section is an addition that did not appear in the first siddurim. Separate title pages for the two sections. At the beginning of the siddur, there is an approbation by the Mahari”l of Yanovitz, brother of the author of the Tanya . A prayer for the emperor appears on leaf 72.
