Made of coated metal. One side: the Irgun’s “רק כך” symbol, and on the other side, the captivity badge. Diameter: 2.7 cm.
The Etze”l badge is a badge of Israeli service granted by the ministry of Defense by decision of the ministerial committee on symbols and ceremonies to people who were members of the Irgun. Over the years, governments of Israel refused to grant badges to members of Etze”l. After Menachem Begin, who had been an Irgun commander, rose to power, he led a process which ended in Irgun fighters receiving war medals.
This badge apparently belonged to Esther Raziel-Naor, who was an Etze”l fighter, and even sat in jail as a result of her activities on behalf of the Irgun. She later became a Cherut MK. Her brother, David Raziel, was an Etze”l commander.
