The speech of Rabbi Yechiel Michel Tukachinsky at the ‘reception’ that was held by the Jewish Yishuv for General Allenby with the conquest of the City from the Turks.
The reception for General Allenby was held at Beit Chefetz on May 24, 1918, with the attendance of rabbis and Zionist public figures. The speakers included Rabbi Yechiel Michel Tukachinsky and before us is the speech he had delivered, handwritten by him. In the middle of his speech, Rabbi Michel gave him a medal to hang on his chest, in merit of his liberating the city!
