Background: Rabbi Aharon of Pissaro (first half of the 16th century) was an Italian sage. Rabbi Yaakov Sasportas (1610-1698) was an Italian Torah giant, one of the first rabbis to battle the Sabbatean movement. He was rabbi in Tlemcen, Fez, Sale, Amsterdam, London, Hamburg and Livorno and authored the Tzitzit Novel Tzvi which denounces Shabbetai Tzvi as a false Messiah.
Condition: Very fine. Aging stains. Simple binding.
