On the title page: and most of the sermons were given to be written by his brother and disciple … Rabbi Yehudah Leib, M”M and M”Tz of Yanovitch, and by the order of the holy Admo”r … he wrote them … and most of them were edited before his brother the Admo”r and he himself proofread them … brought to the printing house by the Admo”r’s Chatan … Rabbi Dov Ber … Rabbi Aharon ben Rabbi Chaim Moshe Alexander.
Due to the closing of the Hebrew printing houses by the Russian authorities, in Tevet 1837, not all that is referred to by the above title page was printed. Only what was referred to by the first title page was printed: “The book Torah Ohr , first section, with sermons on the two Chumashim of Bereshit Shemot and sermons for Hanukkah on Parashat Veyeshev and Parashat Miketz, and Megilat Ester at the end of the book of Shemot and one sermon for Pesach on Parashat Vayakhel”. The other sections of the book were printed later in a special book: Likutei Torah , Zhitomir 1848.
