* Pirkei D’Rabi Eliezer – attributed to the Tanna Rabbi Eliezer ben Horkanus. There is a reference to the final redemption at the end of chapter 30: There are 15 things the sons of Yismael will do in the Land, as follows: They will measure the Land with ropes, they will make a cemetery into a garbage dump, they will measure with them and from them on mountaintops, deceit will increase, truth will be hidden, law will be distanced from the Jewish people, transgressions will increase among the Jewish people, red dye will be like wool, paper and quill will shrivel up, a rock of government will be sculpted, ruined cities will be rebuilt, roadways will be made available, gardens and orchards will be planted, breaches in the walls of the Beit HaMikdash will be fenced off, a building will be constructed in the Temple, and two brothers will preside over them in the end, and in their days, Tzemach ben David (Mashiach) will arise.
The gaon Rabbi David Ganaz [1541-1613] was a disciple of the Rem”a and the Mahara”l of Prague. He was one of the rabbinic leaders of Prague and among the sages of his generation renowned in Torah and science. He also authored Nechmad V’Naim .
