Very beautiful historic-family letter from the tzaddik Rabbi Shlomo Zalman HaKohen Kook, father of Rabbi Avraham Yitzchak HaKohen Kook. Jerusalem, 1917. We are unaware of any other letters from him ever offered at auction.
Very rare letter that sheds light on the roots and family of one of the leading Jewish personalities of recent generations, during the period the Jewish people began to return to its Land. The letter was sent to Rabbi Shlomo Zalman’s children and grandchildren in Jaffa. It exudes love of the Jewish people, exaltedness, messianism and poetry. His style is reminiscent of that of his great son’s, Rabbi Avraham Yitzchak HaKohen Kook’s. It is certainly easy to see from this letter that the apple did not fall far from the tree, and that the taste of the tree was like the taste of the fruit .
Refer to the Hebrew catalog text for a brief biography of the rabbi and tzaddik Shlomo Zalman HaKohen Kook .
