Unique letter of recommendation, with Chassidic biographic information and words heard from tzaddikim, from the tzaddik Rabbi Avraham Chaim Reuven Rottenberg, av beit din of Vadislov, about the Rebbe Rabbi Binyamin of Radoshitz. The letter appeals to the gvir , the honorable Chassid Rabbi Shlomo Sirkis, who was his mechutan . Vadislov, 1904.
Extremely beautiful letter for proponents of Chassidism, historians and followers of the sacred Chassidic dynasties.
Very beautiful letter written by the gaon and tzaddik Rabbi Avraham Chaim Reuven Rottenberg, av beit din of Vadislov – [who was a nephew of the gaon, the author of Chiddushei HaRi”m of Gur], for Rabbi Binyamin Guttshall, Admo”r of Radoshitz, grandson of the rebbe and wonder-worker Rabbi Yissachar Ber of Radoshitz, and son-in-law of Rabbi Alter Meir David, the Admo”r of Wolbrom – grandson of Rabbi Meir of Apta, author of Ohr LaShamayim .
In his letter, the av beit din of Vadislov relates that he took part in the wedding of the grandson of his mechutan , the Rebbe of Wolbrom, where the Rebbe of Wolbrom’s daughter approached him (she was the wife of Rabbi Binyamin of Radoshitz) and requested that he write a letter to the lofty gvir and Chassid Rabbi Shlomo Sirkis to come to their assistance because they are in severe straits.
At the beginning of his letter, he notes the subject’s lofty stature and his serious situation, “Rabbi Binyamin … has nothing but Torah and prayer and fasting all day. His family is suffering terribly.” He writes especially about his distinguished lineage, world leaders from among the disciples of the Besh”t from all sides, with tales and praises of tzaddikim from this sacred root, “They are very sacred and it is a tremendous mitzvah to have mercy on them and to honor them, because those of such distinguished lineage are uncommon. All the kedoshim were their students and their students’ students. Surely anyone who honors their offspring will be considered as if he is honoring all the kedoshim of the land…”
He writes especially about the lineage of the father-in-law Rabbi Binyamin, none other than the sacred Rebbe Rabbi Meir of Wolbrom, who was a direct male descendant of the tzaddik, the rebbe Rabbi Meir of Apta, author of Ohr LaShamayim . The Divrei Chaim of Sanz wrote about his grandfather, Rabbi Pinchas of Apta [son of Ohr LaShamayim] “His lineage is inestimable and he himself is inestimable. The Apta rebbe [author of Ohev Yisrael ] invested a lot for the lineage into which he married.” He relates that he was a maternal grandson of Rabbi Moshe of Lelov, and a paternal grandson of the Peshischa rebbe, as well as a grandson of the Sar Shalom of Belz. He details his lineage from all sides.
