Rabbi Yosef David Sinzheim (c. 1740-1813) was one of the greatest rabbis of his time. He was the chief rabbi of France and the head of Napoleon’s “Sanhedrin.” He was known as the Yad David after the name of his book. The author only published this section. Other sections of his book were recently published by Machon Yerushalayim.
The endpaper bears an important notation about the date of the author’s death, written when he died.
Old, simple binding. Other than a tape reinforcement on the title page, the book’s pages are in very fine condition.
