The author, Ludwig August Frankl traveled to the Holy Land in 1865, sent on a mission by Simon von Lämel to establish the modern “Lämel ” school in Jerusalem. In this book, he writes his impressions of the journey to the Oriental countries – in particular of the Holy Land. The author was a controversial figure, and his conclusions listed here stirred an extensive polemic.
