[3], 40; 46 leaves, 37 cm. First edition of a work by a prominent Galician sage. The book opens with an approbation from the Chatam Sofer and others. Includes an introduction by Rabbi Yehoshua Heschel and one from the author’s son-in-law, Rabbi Chaim Halberstam of Sanz, the Divrei Chaim. His novellae were inserted into the book itself and were also printed as glosses in the margins. In this first edition, Rabbi Chaim of Sanz did not include his name in the introduction, and his identity was only revealed in later editions. Owner signatures.
