The first edition of this revolutionary work. This is the very first time that a book dedicated to lashon hara and rechilut was every printed. The author, Rabbi Yisrael Meir HaKohen, was known as the “Chafetz Chaim” after this work, even though he later wrote the Mishnah Berurah and more. He wrote this work anonymously and his name is not included in the approbations. However, the letters “I.M. Kagan” appear in print in the title page margins.
Scuffed, half-leather binding. Aging stains. Fine condition.
