10, 118, 14, [5] pages. 27 cm. Printed at the height of the Holocaust. Including the leaves with the names of the subscribers, and the last leaf that was printed on different paper – apparently after the printing was completed – which is not found in all copies.
Owner signature on title page of Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Ehrenreich [1863-1944], rabbi of Simlau and prominent rabbi of Hungary-Transylvania before the Holocaust. He authored many books. He had the opportunity to escape the Holocaust but wanted to die in sanctification of G-d’s name and didn’t want to abandon his community. He died in Sivan, 1944. This book features a memorial to a person who died in Adar, 1943, so that this owner signature was signed during the last year of his life.
Very fine condition, other than the blemished binding.

Rabbi Eliyahu Lehrman was a disciple of Rabbi Noach of Karov, and oftened travelled to Kotzk and Vorka. He served as rabbi in a number of communites, became an Admor in 1854 and was known as the Admor of Viscott. He authored “Eizor Eliyahu” and more. Refer to Encyclopedia L’Chassidut 1, 226-227. Bound with Chidushei HaRitva [Zolkiew, 1859, missing title page] with the stamp of the Admor and the stamp of his son, Rabbi Chaim Lehrman the Admor of Konskowola. Rabbi Yaakov Moshe Toledano [1880-1960] was a noted manuscript researcher and author of various works. He served as Rabbi of Alexandria and then Tel Aviv, and was the Minister of Religious Affairs for the State of Israel.

Rabbi Shmuel ben Vaish [1738-1812] was a Moroccan sage, who served as dayan together with Rabbi Refael Berdugo, Rabbi Baruch Toledano and Rabbi Petachya Berdugo.
