Owner signature on title page of Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Ehrenreich [1863-1944], rabbi of Simlau and prominent rabbi of Hungary-Transylvania before the Holocaust. He authored many books. He had the opportunity to escape the Holocaust but wanted to die in sanctification of G-d’s name and didn’t want to abandon his community. He died in Sivan, 1944. This book features a memorial to a person who died in Adar, 1943, so that this owner signature was signed during the last year of his life.
Very fine condition, other than the blemished binding.
