A letter from Rebbetzin Miriam Kanievsky to Miss Devorah Weiner, who later married her nephew Rabbi Shlomo son of Rabbi Meir Karelitz.

Background: Miss Devorah Weiner, daughter of Zalman Dov, was a dedicated teacher in a Beit Yaakov school. Her widowed mother asked the Chazon Ish to give her advice and bless her with a husband who is a Torah scholar. The Chazon Ish turned his sister Rebbetzin Miriam Kanievsky, and at his request she suggested to their brother, Rabbi Meir Karelitz, that Devorah marry his son Rabbi Shlomo. The engagement agreement between them was written on 14 Kislev [November 26] 1939 in Jerusalem. The wedding took place on March 13 1941.
In the letter before us Rebbetzin Miriam writes to Miss Weiner about Shabbat in Jerusalem, and wishes her Mazal Tov and good luck.
